- Announcements: Early Release, Tuesday, May 9th at 12:15 pm. All intramural sports have concluded for the 2022-23 school year.
One of our classes is excited to be holding a supply drive for End of Grade testing! We know that having the right supplies can help students feel more prepared and confident during testing. We are collecting a variety of items, including Chromebook chargers, pencils, erasers, batteries, and analog clocks. These items will help students have a successful testing experience. We encourage all students and their families to contribute what they can to the drive. Please use this Amazon EOG supply drive to see the items we are collecting. If you'd like to purchase items locally, students will be collecting items in the school lobby next week. Every item collected helps ensure that required needs are met. Thank you for supporting our efforts to help our peers succeed! Please contact Mrs. Oke (roke@wcpss.net) if you need more information.
As your child prepares for the upcoming 23-24 school year, we would like your feedback about their math class. Below, you will find a video explaining the Math Options offered for 8th graders. After you watch the video, please complete this Form by Friday, April 28, 2023 to indicate your preference for your student.
Moore Square Math Model:
This is a fun experience of the "Game of Life" for our students and we can’t do it without your help! Please join us on Tuesday, May 9th from 8:10 to 11:15 am!
State Employees Credit Union will host Reality of Money for Moore Square 8th graders. This activity gives the students a "peek" into the future as they are "transformed" into young adults with jobs, debt, families, and other real-world responsibilities. During the simulation, students move through multiple expense stations where volunteers (like you!) assist them in making necessary financial decisions like rent, entertainment, groceries, etc.
Hello, my name is Kate Price and I teach 8th-grade science at Moore Square. I am working on a project for our 8th graders to introduce them to all the different ways people can work in science and to give them the opportunity to engage with scientists in fields that they may not be as familiar with. We will be creating a lesson along with the information, giving students the opportunity to explore the areas of study that we get responses for, and then reach out to an adult in the field that they connect with and send them a couple of questions via email. Your email address will only be going to the student that is sending the questions. We would love if we could get the questions back within a few days so that the students can put together a paragraph on the subject with the information they gather.
Your email will NOT be sent out in mass to all of our students. They will send us the emails and then we can send them to you.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email kprice2@wpcss.net

On Monday, April 24th, 6th and 7th-grade students will be bringing home Registration Course Requests forms for you to review. Please return the form to your 5th-period teacher, if any changes are needed, no later than April 28th. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Estes (jestes2@wcpss.net) or Mr. Wray (mwray@wcpss.net). This is not a schedule! Nor is this guaranteeing placement in an elective. Students will receive their schedules on July 20th at the Mountain Lion Climb.
