  • Moore Square Giving Tree:

This year Moore Square will be hosting a gift card drive to assist with making the upcoming holiday season a little brighter for some of our students and their families. Please see the attached flyer for additional information. Our drive starts today and will end on Thursday, December 16th. Please feel free to share this flyer with your family, friends, and social circles.


  • Yearbook:

The yearbook team needs your help! Please send in your pictures via this link (code: 416224658) of hobbies and talents. 8th-grade parents, don’t forget to purchase recognition ads for your student! The deadline for ads is 12/31/21. There are only 55 yearbooks left, order yours now at! Please see this list to confirm if you’ve already purchased your yearbook.

  • Schedule Holes:

​​​​​​​Please look at your schedule for Q3 and see if you have any holes. If you have a hole in your schedule, please view the Q3 Elective Offerings and email Mrs. Estes ( and/or Mr. Wray ( two choices, your top choice and an alternate.


  • 8th Graders: Early College and Magnet High School Information 

It is time for you and your 8th grader to begin planning for high school and we want to ensure that you are prepared for this experience. Each 8th grader is assigned to a BASE high school according to your address in our PowerSchool database system. You may select to attend your Base High School or apply to attend an Early College or Magnet High School. You can find your Base school here-

Ways to learn more about Early College and Magnet High School Options:

  1. Check out the Magnet High School and Early College options via the Magnet website (
  2. Attend one of the Virtual Parent Info Sessions to receive general information about early colleges, magnet schools, and themes, and the application/selection process. RSVP HERE
    • December 16th at 10 - 11 a.m.  Google meet link
    • January 20th at 5 - 6 p.m. Google meet link
    • Families of current magnet students can join a Magnet Family Info Session to understand your priority for selection to a magnet school at the high school level.
      • December  8th; and January 5th and 12th from 10-11am 
  3. Tour High Schools that interest you and your 8th grader. Each High School and Early College decide if their tours will be offered virtually and/or in person.
  4. Not sure which magnet school or Early College will be right for you? Check out the Magnet Pathways and the Magnet Explorer Tool
  5. There will be a new Early College opening up in August 2022 in the RTP area...Wake Early College of Information and Biotechnologies. If you are interested in Network management, Computer Programming, Cybersecurity, and Biotechnology, please check it out. 
  6. Enloe Magnet High School is having a Virtual Magnet Theme Showcase on December 7th from 6-7:30 pm. Register Here Google link will be emailed on December 6th
  7. Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School invites you to their Virtual Magnet Theme Showcase on Thursday, December 9th at 6:30 pm. Register here
  8. Students, do you need help with your Early College applications or have questions about high school? Parents, do you have any questions about the high school process? Please email ( or schedule an appointment with Mrs. Estes at . Parents, I will send you a Google Meet link for our meeting. 

How to apply:

  1. The application period for Early Colleges is October 15th-December 14th. Early College application process. Please note 3 recommendations are required: 1 ELA teacher (anyone you had from 6-8), 1 Math teacher (anyone you had from 6-8), and one Administrator or Counselor. Apply here:

On February 23, 2022 you will be notified of your Early College/Magnet results and your High School placement for next year. I will work with your 8th grade students before Spring Break on registering for their high school courses. Please reach out to Jacinta Estes, 8th Grade School Counselor, with any questions at or 919-664-5737 ext 26648.

  • PTSA Information:

Our PTSA and Student Council are teaming up for a candy gram fundraiser! Students can order their grams in the front lobby from 7-7:30a and 2-2:30p or online with a recommended donation of $1 until Dec 10th.

Volunteers are also needed to take orders, assemble & distribute! Signup link:

  • Arts Boosters:
    • We are excited to announce the first Arts Boosters Kid’s Night Out. The kids have worked so hard in class this year and are preparing diligently for the upcoming December concerts, so let’s celebrate them by hosting a special night out. We will be coordinating this outing with Raleigh’s First Friday Night TONGITH (12/3), Downtown Raleigh First Friday Events. Kids and families can start out at Amorino Raleigh Gelato around 6:00pm to enjoy a discounted cup or cone after mentioning “First Friday Special” or use this as a meeting place to move on to other functions. Kids and families can coordinate dinner plans, Transfer Co. Food Hall may be a good option to please multiple palates, peruse art galleries, or listen to music in the presence of great company. You might even see your Arts Teacher there! 
    • There are four Arts concerts scheduled in December and we plan to be there to support you with roses to present to your child and concessions as the need arises. We will have a special Arts Booster Event Table set up outside the entrance of each event. All profits will go directly to the Arts Booster fundraiser.

We are looking for parent and child volunteers to help us set up, work, and dismantle our Arts Booster Event Table.  If able to volunteer, please contact us at and let us know which dates you are available.
