School Messenger Announcement Sent 3/23/21

The WCPSS School Board voted on Monday, March 23 to transition from Plan B to Plan A for all face-to-face students, beginning the transition period on April 5th. For more information regarding requirements in Plan A, please see the district communication. All families currently on Plan B that chose in person learning in the building will begin full time on that date. (Please note that Thursday, April 1 is now a teacher workday.)

Movement into and out of Virtual Academy has been reopened as a result of the move to Plan A. This will provide opportunities for any family that would like to shift from face to face to the Virtual Academy or any Virtual Academy family that would like to shift to face to face. You can submit a request by reaching out directly to your grade level administrator. All requests must be submitted before April 1st.

Due to the need for preparation and possible schedule changes for students returning from Virtual Academy to In Person learning, confirmation of your student’s schedule may not take place until April 14th. If you submit a request to change, please note that the staff will review the current schedule and will provide any changes so students can begin in that new schedule on April 19th.  Please note that if you decide to change your child’s current placement it is possible that your child’s teachers will need to change.

Families of students with IEPs and 504s should complete the form received on Thursday, March 18 regarding your school attendance options, and will begin daily instruction on Monday, April 5.

We look forward to continuing the work with all of our families for a successful conclusion of the school year.

Please contact the respective grade level administrator if you prefer to change your child’s current plan (either from Virtual Academy to daily Face to Face OR from daily Face to Face to Virtual Academy). If you have previously submitted a request for change, please reach out again with your formal request to ensure that it is documented appropriately.
