From the PTSA:

Performing Arts News:
The Performing Arts Concerts are right around the corner. The Dance and Theatre Arts Concert is on December 4th at 6pm. The Band, Intermediate and Honors Orchestra Concert is on December at 6 pm. The Choral and Apprentice Orchestra Concert is December 13th at 6pm.
In order to help reinforce our ROAR Expectations, PBIS will select target behaviors to focus on for a week. For the week of November 19th-30th, the focus will be on Respecting Everyone and Everything. Make sure you work on being respectful!
Second Quarter Progress Reports:
As you know, Moore Square has gone green and reducing our use of paper for interim reports. If you have not yet logged on to Home Base/Parent Portal to review your student’s grades, please do so as we are have headed into the 2nd half of the quarter. If you are unable to access the site, contact your student’s teachers and ask for a paper copy of the interim report.
If you have questions about accessing or navigating your account, please contact the school. We will have the parent request forms available at the front desk. Additionally, our office staff will walk you through logging in if you need help.
Attention Carpool Parents:
This is a friendly reminder that the parking lot on the corner of Davie and Bloodworth Streets is owned by Smith Temple and is a pay lot during the week. While it is tempting to park in the lot to wait for dismissal, we ask that you do not. Community members who pay to park in the lot have reported that they are unable to access the lot as our families are using it as a pick-up location.
Attention 6th Grade Parents:
Thank you to all the parent chaperones who supported the 6th grade team on today’s zoo trip. From the pictures that are posted on Twitter, the students had a blast!
Attention 7th Grade Parents and Students:
Ms. Williams, Mrs. Richardson and Mr. Leslie are reminding students that in ELA this quarter students have had and will have homework nightly. They should be reading the assigned chapters in the book, Lyddie, and should be completing the reader's notes and vocabulary for those chapters. Doing the homework is necessary because they will need this to complete the classwork the following day.
Attention 8th Graders:
Calling all proud 8th grade parents: 8th grade recognition ads are on sale now through December 15th. You can design and purchase a yearbook ad to celebrate your 8th grader by going online at Jostens.com. See the school website for a direct link to the design your own ad page.
The Washington, DC trip is April 17-18, 2019. Payments are now being accepted. Cost is $250 and can be paid in full or in 4 installments. The first installment ($60) MUST be paid by November 28. Payments can be made online, in cash, or in a check payable to Moore Square Middle School. We are also looking for parent chaperones to join us. Cost is the same for chaperones. If you have questions, contact Ms. Layton or Ms. Henderson.
The early college application process has started. Students need 3 recommendations (Math, ELA, and Administrator or Counselor) plus they will have to write an essay. Here is more information about applying to an Early College.
