Weekly Message for 8.17.18
Happy weekend Moore Square families. Let me first say thank you to the PTSA for providing lunch to the staff on Friday. Because of your willingness to feed us, we were able to jump right in to our professional development and do some meaningful learning that we can implement into our instructional practices immediately. I would also like to the thank all the parents who answered the call to help with school pictures last week. Your time allowed pictures to run smoothly!
Moore Square hosted delegates from Nairobi last week. The chorus and jazz band performed for our guests and we were able to show off the rest of our learning environment through as school tour. The panel discussion was a great learning experience for all participants.
Attention 7th grade families: We are fast approaching the deadline for all 7th graders to have immunization on file. We do not want to have to exclude any student from school so, if you are not sure, check with Claire DiBlasi, Guidance Technician, to determine if your student has the required immunization records on file. She can be reached by calling the main line, 919.664.5737.
There will be a brief parent meeting for all students interested in trying out for the Ligon/Moore Square fall athletic season on August 23rd at 5pm in the Ligon gym. Additionally, all students trying out will need to have a current physical on file. Tryouts begin August 28th. Contact Mr. Scheck, nscheck@wcpss.net, if you have any questions.
All students will attend a cultural arts performance, Living Rhythms Drums, on Friday.
First quarter progress reports will be sent home this week in each class. Please contact your student’s individual teacher if you do not receive a progress report. If you would like a conference, you may contact the teachers or the school counselors to schedule.
Thank you and have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
