The Parkside Semi-monthly 3/2/19

Greetings Parkside Families!  This is your proud principal, Teresa Caswell, writing with a few updates, reminders, and upcoming events.  The excitement is increasing as we draw near to the 2019-20 school year; I have enjoyed meeting many of you and your students and am so thrilled to be a Sandpiper!

Invitations and Updates:

Many of you completed the PTA interest survey at one of the parent meetings – that link is again here:  Current Carpenter PTA President Mark Dixon may contact you to connect about the April 4th meeting as well.  I cannot wait to collaborate with the PTA and any/all Parkside volunteers – thank you in advance for your partnership and support of all things Sandpipers!!

Walk Zone – I am meeting with the Morrisville Police Chief to discuss crossing guards and Wake County transportation to conduct a walk audit.  I hope to have a finalized, safe, walk zone determined in April.  Stay tuned!

Building: A video of the building architect and me will be release soon discussing the various unique and exciting aspects of our future school-home. Keep an eye on twitter for the release – it is a touch long (9 minutes) but interesting.  If you are short on time, watch the last 4 minutes :)  We are going to have an amazing year of Empowerment through Innovation!

If you have not yet, Please fill out this track preference form – Once the county transfer process has completed mid-March, the track placement process will begin. I and the other nearby year round schools are meeting to ensure equity within the reassignment process. Track assignments will be communicated by mid-April. Thank you!
