SRMHS Theatre Company Shines in 2025 Spring Musical: Once on This Island
This spring, the Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School Theatre Company, in collaboration with the SRMHS Theater Boosters Club, proudly presented the 2025 Spring Musical—Once on This Island. Hosted in the SRMHS auditorium, this beautifully staged Caribbean folktale captivated audiences with its moving storyline, vibrant costumes, and unforgettable musical numbers.
Under the direction of Mrs. Robin Marshall, Drama Director, and Ms. Maretha Rawls, Technical Director, the production was a true showcase of student talent, teamwork, and artistic vision. With months of rehearsals, set building, vocal training, and choreography, students delivered an energetic and emotional performance that brought the island story of love, sacrifice, and resilience to life.
SRMHS’s theater program is a cornerstone of the school’s Performing Arts Magnet identity, offering students hands-on experience in acting, stage management, lighting and sound design, costume creation, and so much more. From beginners to advanced performers, the program nurtures students' creative expression while building confidence, leadership, and collaboration skills.
The success of Once on This Island not only reflects the hard work of the cast and crew, but also the dedication of our staff, the support of families, and the enthusiasm of our Bulldog community. Audiences left inspired by the students’ passion and storytelling, proving once again that the arts are alive and thriving at SRMHS.
The SRMHS Theatre Company is already looking ahead to more performances, competitions, and showcases that reflect our students' creative voices.
🎭 Bravo to the entire cast, crew, and creative team for an outstanding show!
