Attention Parents/Guardians: Does your student have a working chromebook? Is their chromebook running the latest OS? Click here for more information.

Please check with your student to make sure that their school assigned chromebook is working and that the OS has been updated to version 126 or higher. School issued devices are required for all EOC exams.

Is your student's chromebook damaged or lost?

If their device is damaged or not functioning properly, please ask them to bring their chromebook to the media center for repair. We have limited hours due to IB testing but we are open every morning before school and during 1st period. Students may also email me at jamitchell@wcpss.net for assistance.

Directions for Updating your Chromebook to a current OS (v. 126 or higher)

  1. At the login screen, press Alt-V.  Look in the upper right hand corner to see what version of the operating system is currently installed. If it’s earlier than version 126, you need to update. The chromebook may automatically update at this point. If not, continue following these instructions.

  2. Log into your chromebook (using WakeID credentials)

  3. Click Settings (Gear Icon)

  4. Click about ChromeOS (scroll down)

  5. Check for Updates (allow updates to install)

  6. Restart the device

  7. Depending on the number of OS versions the device is behind, you may be prompted to restart multiple times.
