New Bell Schedule | The school will follow the bell schedule below daily Monday – Thursday.  The school will operate the following bell schedule on Friday, February 7 – D Week (Thursday Schedule from the first semester).  Clubs will continue to meet on Fridays just as first semester with the revolving bell schedule.

ECDBA High School All-District Band | Three of our students were for the Wake County All-District Band.  Join me in congratulating Jordan Sanders, Alfredo Serrano, and Chantile Gibson.

 

National School Counselor Week | February 3 -7 is National School Counselor Week!  Join me in celebrating our school counselors for the outstanding job that they do for our students each day. Please make sure you share your appreciation for the great things that they do!

 

Club Pictures | Club pictures will be taken on Friday, February 7. Students should see their club advisor for the specific time that the club picture will be taken.

 

PTSA Officers for 2020-2021 School Year | The East Wake High School PTSA is seeking PTSA Officer nominations for the 2020-2021 school year.  All positions are available.  If you are interested or want more information, please contact Mrs. Nicole Kelly at nicoleewhsptsa@gmail.com.

 

Bus Stop Safety | As we begin a new semester, this is a good time to review bus safety and bus stop safety with your student.  Families are encouraged to have a bus stop safety plan and to talk with your student about safety at the bus stop and on the bus.  You can get some bus safety tips by review this link: NCBusSafety.org.

 

Capturing Kids’ Heart National Showcase School Nominee | East Wake was selected as a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools® nominee!  We were one of only 261 of U.S. school campuses that were selected as 2019-2020 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School® Nominees.  Through the National Showcase Schools™ awards, the Flippen Group recognizes and celebrates schools that go the extra mile each day, creating the socio-emotional safety on school campuses that is conducive to learning.

  

ACT Prep | All 11th-grade students will take the ACT on February 25.  An overview of each test that 11th-grade students will take can be found here:

Tobacco-Free Community Forum | WCPSS will host a Tobacco-Free Community Forum on Saturday, March 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Southeast Raleigh High School.  This is a youth-led forum for students, parents, WCPSS staff members, community advocates, and policymakers.  The information at the forum will focus on the vaping epidemic.  For more information, click on the flyer here.

 

Yearbooks | Yearbooks are $75 plus tax. See Ms. Anderson in room 159 or go online jostensyearbooks.com. 

  

Spring Open House | The Spring Open House will be on Thursday, February 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  The event will be an opportunity to meet your child’s second-semester teachers and to learn about the wonderful programs we have to offer for registering for classes. 

 

The event will operate on the tentative schedule for our Curriculum Fair/Open House programs.

  • 6:00 – 6:50 p.m. – Rising 9th – 12th-grade Curriculum Fair (Main Gym)
  • 6:30 p.m. – Family Academy Session 1, Media Center (Parent Advocacy & Engagement in Your Child’s Education)
  • 7:15 p.m. – Family Academy Session 2, Media Center (Parent Advocacy & Engagement in Your Child’s Education)
  • 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. - Rising 9th Grade Registration Presentation, Auditorium (East Wake Student Services)
  • 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Spring Open House for current East Wake students; Families will spend 8 minutes in each period
