EWHS Weekly Message – Week of March 4, 2019

 

Fall Semester Awards Day | The Fall 2019 Awards Day program will be held on Friday, March 8.  The Juniors awards program will start at 7:30 a.m., the Senior awards program will start at 8:30 a.m., the Sophomore awards program will start at 9:35 a.m., and Freshman awards program will start at 10:35 a.m.  Parents were notified on Friday, March 1 via School Messenger if your child will be presented with an award.

 

Early Release | Friday, March 8 is an early release day for students.  Students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m.  No students should stay after school for any reason because staff will not be available to supervise students.

 

Scholarships | Seniors should visit our school website at https://www.wcpss.net/Page/36874 for scholarship information.  If a student receives a scholarship, no matter if they accept the scholarship or not should turn it into Student Services.  The student will be recognized at the Senior Awards Day Program for this accomplishment.  For more information, Seniors should see their Guidance Counselor.

 

Pieces of Gold | Congratulations to our Dance program for participating in Pieces of Gold.  This is a huge accomplishment as only select performances for WCPSS are accepted.  Pieces of Gold will be at the Duke Energy Center for the Performance Arts on Wednesday, March 6 @ 7 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

 

Interim Reports | Interim reports were sent home by students on Friday, March 1.

 

Warrior Sidewalk Logos | The Warrior Club is selling warrior sidewalk logos.  For more information, click here.

 

Volunteers Needed at Sporting Events | Please help and support our athletic teams by volunteering in our concession stand.  Upon arrival; all volunteers are invited to enjoy one food item and a drink.  Thank you in advance!!!  To sign up, click on the following links:  Soccer – click here; Track – click here

 

School Improvement Plan | The purpose of school improvement is to improve achievement and outcomes for every student by working to eliminate the ability to predict achievement based on socioeconomic status, race, and ethnicity.  We do this by collaboratively and continuously analyzing data and making decisions considering the unique needs of the learning community and the district's strategic plan.  To view our school’s plan, please click here.  The login information is located on the right side of the screen.

 

Food Pantry | Did you know that our school has a Food Pantry? If you are experiencing or you know of a family that is experiencing a stressful time and needs food, the East Wake High School Food Pantry is here to help. The Interfaith Food Shuttle recently stocked our pantry with fresh fruit, vegetables, and meats for families that may be experiencing difficult times. EWHS Food Pantry is open to any family in need. Yearbook | Yearbooks are currently $70 (including tax) for students.  Checks can be made out to EWHS or cash should be taken to Ms. Anderson’s room 159.  Yearbooks can be ordered at  www.jostensyearbooks.com.  We do not order extras at the end of the year, and we always sell out every year.  Order yours today while the price is still low.
