2020-2021 School Year
All rising 6th grade students and families are invited to our Open House on Tuesday March 3rd from 6:00-7:00pm in the Alston Ridge Middle School auditorium. This exciting evening will showcase all that ARMS has to offer including: outlining our vision and commitments to excellence, 6th grade courses, staff introductions, structures for success in middle school, and much more! Additionally, there will be student-led tours of our beautiful building and an opportunity to learn more about the PTSA. We hope you will be able to join for this informative evening!
We enjoyed opening our doors on January 14 to prospective families and students to experience the great things happening at Alston Ridge Middle School. Please see the presentation below with information from our ARMS Open House.
Track Change Request
Many rising 6th grade families may be interested in a track change or new families have yet to be assigned a track for the 2020-21 school year. Please take a moment to complete this form: ARMS Track Change/Track Request Form for 2020-21. If you are currently at a year-round school and are satisfied with your track placement, you do not need to complete anything. The ARMS staff will be reviewing all requests over the next two months. Please know that we have a duty to ensure our new school continues to have balanced tracks that equate to the number of teachers hired. This is not a first-come, first-served process. All requests will be viewed equally by the current Alston Ridge Middle School team. Finalized track assignments will not be available until the third week of April 2020. Additionally, year-round schools must wait until after the Request for Transfer period in March so we know how many students will be enrolled. Student enrollment numbers determine how many teachers are allotted at each school, thus determining how many students can be placed on each track. Please know that we understand how challenging this process is for families, especially those new to year-round. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding.
Track change requests were available for current students through the end of January.
Immunizations for Rising 7th Graders
Attention families of rising 7th graders. NC law requires Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines for entry into the 7th grade. Immunizations need be to complete before your child tracks-in for the 2020-2021 school year. You may begin bringing proof of your child’s immunization records to the drop off locations in the front office.
