St. Baldricks: This year, Alston Ridge Middle School is very excited to participate in St. Baldrick’s, an organization that raises money (and awareness) to fight childhood cancer. (For more information check out StBaldricks.org.)
Fourteen years ago a group of WCPSS teachers formed Team TACKLE (Teachers Against Cancer Killing Little Educatees). They went several months without haircuts, raised money, and then went downtown to have their heads shaved. Mr. Williams has participated in this fundraising experience since 2014 with students, staff, and other principals. Team TACKLE has raised $165,000 in its existence to help fight childhood cancer!
There are several ways you and/or your child can become involved:
- Have your child become a shavee. He or she can grow his or her hair out over the next two months, raise money, and then on Saturday, February 29th, go bald to put a stop to childhood cancer. Sign-up using this link: ARMS Students for St. Baldricks. (Ms. Resua will be in contact with students that sign up soon.)
- Donate. You can donate to Team TACKLEmembers or you can donate to your favorite teacher or principal to help them reach their goal.
- Promote. Help show your support of St. Baldricks and Team TACKLE by purchasing a t-shirt. 100% of the proceeds go directly to Team TACKLE. You can purchase your tshirt here. Please include "Alston Ridge" in the notes section when you order.
Please reach out to Mr. Williams (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Ms. Resua (email@example.com) with any questions. Thank you all in advance for your support of this amazing cause! Go Team TACKLE!
