Weekly Update 12-21-20

Dear AFHS Parents:

This is Matt Wight with the latest news and updates from AFHS and WCPSS.

  

Please take a moment to review your students powerschool grades and any missing assignments. We will return to class on Monday, January 4, 2021. Classes for semester 1 will end on January 8th.

 

Wrapping up Semester 1

**UPDATED 12/10/20** Fall Semester Final Exam Information 

Semester 1 Final Exams are scheduled for January 11th-15th.

Mid-Year Graduation cap/gown pick-up information

Students that are participating in the mid-year graduation may pick up their cap/gown from AFHS on Friday, January 8th (or after) between the hours of 9am-2:30pm. 

Stop by AFHS and ring the doorbell. 

 

Preparing for Semester 2

Please review the required form and return the signature page via email to: afhsattendance@wcpss.net before the second semester begins. (Even students in VA)

 

BUS RIDERS 

All bus riders are required to submit this form stating that you and your child will abide by all health and safety protocols for bus ridership. 

Students are not permitted to ride the bus until this form has been submitted. You will need to submit a form for all of your children who plan to ride the bus during the 2020-21 school year. LINK

 

Junior/Senior Parking Registration SPRING 2021

Second semester parking pass registration is open for each junior and senior cohort. If you are interested in securing a spot, register now. AFHS will require a completed registration. You will receive an email confirmation when your application is complete. Parking Pass pick up is scheduled for January 6th 10am-12pm & 1pm-2:30pm.

Second Semester Schedules

Counselors are currently working on second semester schedules. Please be aware that 2nd semester schedules will be ready and available on January 11th. Until then, what students see in Powerschool may not be accurate. 

 

At this time, we ask that students refrain from emailing their counselors about their schedules. Students will be able to request schedule changes to their 2nd semester schedule January 11th - 15th via a google doc that will be published on January 11th. 

 

Undergraduate Picture Make-Up Day

9th-11th grade AFHS students will have a make-up date with LifeTouch on February 3rd. Details TBD.
