Principal Updates on April 7, 2025
Good morning Sycamore Creek Families! Thank you to all of our Track 1 families who came to Student Led Conferencing last week! I know you are so proud of the progress your children are making. Our last Saturday make-up day was also a great day of learning. We had 60% in attendance.

Q3 Report Cards for Tracks 1 and 3 will be sent home today, April 7th.
School Spirit Night at Goodberry’s
Please stop by Goodberry’s tomorrow afternoon or evening, April 8th, to support Sycamore Creek PTA’s School Spirit Night! Be sure to tell them you are from Sycamore!
Change of Date for SuperCrocs Day for Tracks 1 and 3
Due to the inclement weather forecast for Friday, Super Crocs Day for Track 1 and 3 will be this Thursday, April 10th. It will follow the same schedule, just a day earlier. Yearbooks are Here!
School yearbooks are going home today for Tracks 1 and 3 ! If you would like to purchase your child’s yearbook, please complete the order sheet going home today. The cost is $17, and the online order code is YB31812. You may pay for yearbooks online or return money in the envelope provided. If you do not want to purchase the yearbook, please return to your child’s teacher this week.
Poem in Your Pocket Day is Thursday
April is National Poetry Month! Poetry can make you laugh, smile, ponder, and even cry! Help your Croc to select their own special poem to share because Thursday, April 10th is “Poem in Your Pocket” Day. They will share a short poem throughout the day with other Crocs!
Volunteers Needed for STEAM Specials
Please consider volunteering some time to support STEAM Specials for Kindergarten in Quarter 4. You do not have to have a child in Kindergarten. Sign up here.
Assistant Principal Appreciation Week
This week, April 7th-11th is National Assistant Principal Week. We are so honored to have the best assistant principal, Mrs. Griffin, and best assistant principal intern, Mr. Hermanson, loving and serving the Sycamore Creek community. Thank you both for your hard work, your kindness and passion, willingness to help and listen, and your everyday promotion of a safe and encouraging learning environment. We all appreciate your positive influence and dedication!

Backpack Buddies Donations Needed
The Backpack Buddies pantry is currently low on protein (canned chicken, Vienna sausages) and canned vegetables (corn, green beans.) If anyone is able to donate these items, they would be greatly appreciated! Please make sure to check expiration dates before donating, as we are unable to accept expired items.

Important Information from the PTA for the 2025-2025 School Year
PTA is beginning their search for the 2025-2026 PTA Board of Directors and all Committee Chairs. There are many openings available for the next school year, so if you are interested in volunteering please click this link to see a description of all open positions. The PTA Nominating Committee will reach out to you with more information. Experience is not required, but only a willingness to share your time and talents with Sycamore Creek. These roles are vital to keeping our PTA running and continued planning of all the events you and your children love. Without a full PTA Board and committees these events will not take place. We urge all parents who have the ability to please take a moment and see if you can help out in any of these positions. Thank you.
Spring Silent Auction
We need your help! The PTA is gearing up for their Spring Silent Auction that will run from May 8-15. We are looking for anyone willing to donate products or services to be auctioned off.

Super Crocs Day for Track 4 Volunteers Needed!

Volunteer Registration
For new volunteer registrations, click the link to start your volunteer registration: https://myvolunteer.com/wcpss/volunteer/login. On the MyVolunteer site, you will find disclosure and authorization forms, the WCPSS Volunteer Agreement, as well as a summary of rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. You must review these documents and provide the requested information. Make sure you include your name and contact information when you begin the registration process. If you leave the CRC background site before completing your contact information, you will have to begin the process again. You must include your social security number to register to volunteer. If you do not have a social security number, please contact volunteers@wcpss.net or call 919-694-8233. You will be notified by the MyVolunteer system if you are approved to volunteer.
