Thankful for YOU!

On behalf of the entire Sycamore Creek staff, we want to share our deepest gratitude and thankfulness for all of our Sycamore Creek students and families.  We are constantly in awe of the incredible support provided by our Sycamore Creek community.  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your children’s lives and for always partnering with us to ensure your children are learning and growing.  Sycamore Creek is so blessed to have the most loving, encouraging, and enthusiastic families!  From your school family, we wish you the happiest and safest Thanksgiving holiday!

Student Support Services Available

Many of our students and families were directly affected by the unspeakable tragedy that occurred at the Raleigh Christmas Parade on Saturday.  Our Student Services Team and school counselors are always available if your child needs support while at school (sjgordon@wcpss.net and kleroy@wcpss.net). We also encourage you to use the district resources sent out yesterday to support your child’s response to such a tragic event. Just know we are here for you when needed.

 

Winter Chorus Concert and PTA Meeting

Please make plans to attend the next PTA meeting and our Winter Chorus Performance next Thursday, December 1st at 5:00 PM.

 

Sycamore Creek PTA Clothing Drive

We know that this time of year especially Sycamore Creek families are looking for a way to give back to the community. With that in mind, the PTA will be hosting a clothing drive to benefit Note in the Pocket from November 28 through December 16. The mission of Note in the Pocket is to provide quality clothing to homeless and impoverished children and families with dignity and love. We will be collecting NEW ONLY socks, underwear and long sleeve t-shirts in all sizes from child to adult. These are some of the highest need items for the families that Note in the Pocket serves. Thank you for helping us show the holiday giving spirit SCES is known for. 

 

Deadline to Order Square 1 Art is Tomorrow

Picture Make-Up Days

Track 1 and 3 have their picture make-up day on Tuesday, November 29th. Any students unhappy with their portrait are welcome to retake their picture. They do, however, need to return their original photos. 

For those students that were absent on the original picture day, they need to have their photograph taken, regardless if they are ordering pictures or not, as these photographs are used for the yearbook. You can ask your child’s teacher for a hard copy of the order form or purchase it online using this digital flier.

 

Tomorrow is Last Day to Sign up for Musical Auditions

Musical audition sign ups are open to 4th and 5th graders. Sign up by tomorrow Nov 22nd to audition for the Lion King Kids! Auditions will be Dec. 5 (Track 1) and Dec. 6-8 (Tr 2-4) and our performances will be May 11th and 12th. Winter Spirit Wear Preorder Open NOW! 

The cooler weather is finally here to stay. Order a cozy hoodie and a long sleeve tee for your Crocs today! Short sleeve t-shirts are also available to order. These items are pre-order ONLY.  Preorders will close December 3.  Our PTA hopes to have orders delivered to students by Dec. 21. The Croc Shop will be closed this week. 

 

Yearbook Updates

Congratulations to Elliott B. and  Bailey H. for being this year’s SCES Yearbook Cover Contest Winners!   Awesome job!

COVID Metrics Update for Sycamore Creek

Continue to report positive COVID cases and they will be reported in the Covid Metrics for Sycamore (link below).  However, we will not include a separate weekly update moving forward.

 

Lunch Changes

There are no lunch changes for this week. 

 

PTA Class Shirts

The PTA is collecting previously used class t-shirts that are in great condition but no longer wanted or needed. These shirts will be made available to new students that have registered after we purchased ones for the current year.
