Good morning Sycamore Creek families!   What an ENTHUSIASTIC morning arrival time at Sycamore Creek we had last Friday!  Thank you so much for bringing the smiles, energy, and outstanding participation for the Carpool Casanova!  Our Crocs were SHINING BRIGHTLY!

 

We have a very choppy week this week!  Don’t forget that there is No School for students on Tuesday and Friday!  Plus, Thursday is an Early Release Day!

 

Track 3 students will return next Monday, November 14th!

Flip Day and Croc Mile Celebration

This week we will be celebrating the amazing accomplishments of our students and families from this year’s Croc Mile.  The students have earned a special FLIP Day.  On Wednesday, our specialists will be flipping programs and on Thursday, our classroom teachers will be flipping classes!   Mrs. Brunson and Mr. Hudson will be wearing their Elmo and Grouch costumes and one administrator will be taped to the wall!  Then, on November 18th, we will do a Flip Day for Track 3 and on that day the other administrator will be taped to the wall.   SO MUCH FUN!

 

Holiday Cheer

As the holiday season approaches, Sycamore Creek Elementary School would like to invite you to participate in our Holiday Cheer Program. This program is designed to provide gifts for families in need at our school. You can participate in one of two ways. You can request that your child(ren) be sponsored to receive gifts, or you can volunteer to sponsor a student in need. The identity of all children participating in the program will be kept confidential. 

 

If you would like for your child(ren) to be sponsored, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page and return it to your child’s teacher no later than Friday, November 18th. To fill out the form electronically, please click here. Gift pick-up will be December 12-16 during school hours!

 

If you would like to sponsor a child, please fill out this form, and a Student Support Services member will send you a link to our Holiday Cheer Sign-up to select a child to sponsor on Monday November 21.  All gifts need to be returned to school unwrapped, by Friday, December 9th.

Picture Make Up Dates

Picture retakes for 2 and 4 will take place on Thursday, November 10th. Track 1 and 3 will have their retakes on Tuesday, November 29th. Any families unhappy with a student’s portrait are welcome to retake their picture. Original photos do need to be returned.

 

For those students that were absent on the original picture day, they will have their photograph taken regardless if they are ordering pictures or not as these photographs are used for the yearbook.

 

Open Enrollment for Rising Kindergarteners for 2023-2024

Registration for next school year is now open!  If you have a rising kindergartener for the next school year, please go ahead and start that registration process NOW.  We want to be sure we are protecting your spot and your track.  Enrollment for next year is on the Wake County website under Student Enrollment. 

 

COVID Metrics Update for Sycamore Creek

We had no positive COVID cases reported last week at Sycamore Creek.  Please make sure you notify us of any positive COVID cases.

Leesville Community 5K Turkey Trot

The third annual Leesville Community 5K Turkey Trot Run/Walk is ON! All the proceeds go to scholarships at LRHS! This is a fun and safe way to get Thanksgiving Day off to a grand start! Features: a certified 5K course that starts and ends at the Harrington Grove Clubhouse, coffee / hot chocolate / snacks, the LRHS drumline and a DJ, "Roost Stops" and student musicians along the route, pie prizes, stroller friendly! $12/person, $25 of you want a shirt (must register by 11/7 for a shirt option). Sycamore Creek Spring Musical

Our Spring Musical for the 22 is back and we are so excited!  Ms. Yardley has selected The Lion King as our musical for the 2022-2023 school year.  Any interested 4th and 5th graders can audition for our musical. Auditions are: Track 1 - Dec. 5th and Tracks 2-4 - Dec. 6-8.  For more details and information about the musical click here.
