The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) Board of Education defines acceleration as allowing a student to move through traditional educational organizations more rapidly, based on readiness and motivation. Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) is the practice of placing a student in a higher-grade level in one subject area. This type of acceleration is for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities in either math or English Language Arts. 

 

The 2025 Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) Information is now available.  Please click HERE for more information including the Parent Presentation by WCPSS.   Vance's test request window is March 10-28, 2025.  The Test Request Google Form will only be available during that window.  

 

Mrs. Davis will be available in the Vance Media Center on Thursday, March 20 from 6-6:45 PM during our Family Engagement Night.  She will be available to answer any questions about SSA at that time.
