1/28 Principal Message
Mt. Vernon Parents/Guardians,
We have officially started Semester 2 and Quarter 3 of the 2018-19 school year. As you will see, Quarter 3 is typically the most challenging quarter academically of the year. Students will be engaged in fast-paced curricula in all of their classes and will continue to have high expectations placed on them from a behavior perspective. Please continue to monitor your child’s MAV Sheet to review their daily points and to determine if they have any work to be completed for that evening.
Report cards will be sent in the mail on Friday, 2/1. Please look for these in the mail. If you do not receive the report card in the mail by Friday, 2/8, please contact Mt. Vernon. When reviewing your child’s report card, please remember that their final grades are not the only indicator of success for our students. Our students are working at the same pace as their base middle schools within their classrooms. Their grades may reflect this as well. Please make sure to review the comments from teachers regarding work ethic and classroom participation and reach out to the teachers if you have any questions.
Please continue monitoring your child’s MAV Sheet nightly. This behavior management system serves to provide immediate positive feedback to our students while addressing areas in need of improvement. At times, the MAV sheets will also contain importance pieces of information for you and your family.
