8/24 Principal Message
Welcome to the 18/19 school year. My name is Michael Hokenberg. I am the proud principal here at Mt. Vernon Middle School. Each week, I will be sharing out the weekly Principal Message that will be posted on Mt. Vernon’s website prior to the start of each week. The Principal Message is an opportunity that we have to share important information with our families. Below, you will find key information for the start of the school year.
First Day of School
The first day of school for students is Monday, August 27. Our school day for students is from 8:25 am to 3:05 pm. It is important for all students to have consistent attendance at school. Please contact the school if there is something preventing your child from attending school daily.
Here at Mt. Vernon MS, all students are transported to and from school via private transportation. You should have received information regarding departure/pick-up times directly from the vendor. If this is not the case, please contact us as soon as possible
Mt. Vernon MS has a dress code for all students in attendance, each day. This does include the first day of school. You can find a copy of our dress code here. Please help ensure our students have a smooth transition to Mt. Vernon MS by sending them to school each day in dress code.
Each day, your child will bring home their MAV Sheet. This sheet is a tool that we use to help students meet our behavior/school expectations and to communicate to families the hard work students are displaying on a daily basis. Please review these MAV sheets with your child daily.
