5/4 Principal Message

5/4 Principal Message

Today, May 4th, students were sent home with their Quarter 4 Interims attached to their SAIL sheets. Please take a moment to review your students interims and have discussions with them around their progress to date and their opportunities for growth.

On May 9th and 10th, students will be taking the End-Of-Year I-Ready diagnostic to assess the growth that they have made in both Math and Language Arts this school year. This End-Of-Year diagnostic is not something your child should prepare for or worry about. It is just another opportunity for them to demonstrate the growth they have found here at Mt. Vernon.

Students will begin EOG and NCFE (NC Final Exams) on May 25th. A testing schedule will be shared with parents shortly.

You may have received an email or a phone call from one of your children's teachers regarding a Panorama parent survey. Mt. Vernon is dedicated to continuous improvement. If you have not had the opportunity yet, please click on the link here to provide your feedback.

Lastly, the week of May 7th is Teacher Appreciation Week across the Nation. If your child feels inclined, please have them express their positive thoughts on all of their teachers in some way next week. We know the teachers will appreciate it.

As always, please contact us here at Mt. Vernon if you have any questions or need anything from us.
