AC Restaurants, the family of restaurants owned and operated by James Beard Award-winning chef Ashley Christensen, is now accepting applications for the inaugural class of our culinary internship program!

What Will I Learn?

  • Cooking fundamentals, including knife skills
  • Food safety and health department regulations
  • Working with local, seasonal ingredients
  • Bread and pastry preparation
  • Line cooking in a variety of settings, including open kitchens
  • Soft skills, including communication, delivering and receiving feedback, problem solving, and personal accountability. 

 

How Does the Program Work?

  • The dates for the 2022 program sessions are as follows:
    • March 7th through May 29th
    • June 6th through September 4th
    • September 12th through December 11th
  • This is a paid internship at a rate of $12/hour and a time commitment of 16 to 25 hours per week.
  • The first 30 days of each session is a rotation in our commissary kitchen working primarily daytime hours.
  • Then, interns will be placed in our restaurants for hands-on training in active restaurant kitchens. These restaurant rotations will be primarily evening hours during dinner service.
