Family Updates - May 1st, 2022
Greetings, Lynn Road Families! I’m hopeful that everyone is enjoying the weekend. This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Please take some time to show gratitude to our staff members for all that they do to support each and every one of our students.
Below are a few updates for the upcoming week. We look forward to a great week of learning and growing!
Teacher Workday
There will be no school for students on Monday, May 2nd. This day has been set aside as a Teacher Workday.
Panorama Survey
The Panorama Survey window closes this Friday. This is a valuable opportunity for you to provide us feedback that will help us improve our relationships with families. Please take the time to complete this survey. We would like to have a 90% or higher participation rate. The survey can be completed at THIS LINK. You can also request a paper copy of the survey if preferred.
Millbrook High School Soccer Camp
The Millbrook High School Boys Soccer Team will host a soccer camp this summer. Last year, over 100 students participated in the camp. Use THIS LINK if you would like to register, or get more information.
Kindergarten Orientation
If you have a rising kindergartener, or know someone that does, please plan to attend an in-person event on Thursday, May 26th from 5:30p - 6:30p. This will be an opportunity to hear from our staff and receive information that will help to ease the transition…If you have a rising kindergarten student and have not yet registered them, please do so as soon as possible. You may also use THIS WEB PAGE if you would like additional information.
EOG Testing Schedule
All 3rd through 5th grade students take End of Grade (EOG) Tests in reading and math. Students in 5th grade will also take a science EOG Test. Below is the schedule for this year. It is important that your student is present to take the test so that they do not have to make it up later. All tests will be given in-person; virtual students will need to come to the building on their assigned days.
- Friday, 5/27 — 5th Grade Science
- Tuesday, 5/31 — 3rd Grade Reading
- Wednesday, 6/1 — 4th & 5th Grade Reading
- Thursday, 6/2 — 3rd Grade Math
- Friday, 6/3 — 4th & 5th Grade Math
- Week of June 6th - 10th — Make up Tests
EOG Test Proctors
EOG tests require people that administer the test (certified teachers) and people to proctor. Due to the amount of people that are needed to meet the requirements, we are asking for volunteers to fill the proctor positions. If you are available to proctor during any of the above testing days, please complete THIS FORM. Our testing coordinator will contact people to schedule proctor training and share any needed information.
Contact Information
If you have recently changed your phone number or address, please take a minute to come by the school so that we can update your information. It is extremely important that we have accurate contacts so that you receive information from the school and in case of an emergency.
Literacy at Home
Early literacy skills are extremely important for a student to grow and develop into a proficient reader. Use THIS LINK from the Department of Public Instruction to get specific ideas that you can use at home to support the growth of your child’s literacy skills.
