Principal's Post | March 7, 2022

Greetings, Jets! In preparation for the week ahead, please review the important information below:

This Week at BCES | March 7-11

  • Tracks 2, 3, & 4 have school Monday-Friday.
  • Track 2 tracks in Monday.
  • PTA Board will meet virtually Monday at 6:00 pm.
  • In Positivity Project, all tracks will study the character strength of Enthusiasm this week. The P2 for Families website has information you can use to dive into deeper discussion about character with your child. The password is P2.

Masks Now Optional Under New Health Guidance

As you are probably aware, new health guidance has been approved by the WCPSS School Board which allows students, staff, and visitors to choose whether or not to wear a mask beginning Monday.  Masks are recommended but not required.  I encourage parents to have conversations with your children about your family’s expectations for mask-wearing at school.  Please note that our staff will not be reminding students or coaching students on whether or not they should be wearing their masks.  Mask-optional is truly mask-optional. Each individual member of our school community (students, staff and visitors) will make their own choices with regard to masking.

Spring Individual and Class Pictures

On Wednesday, students on Tracks 2, 3, & 4 will take spring individual and class pictures. Virtual Academy students may come have their individual picture made between 12:00 & 12:30. VA classes will not take a group picture. Envelopes to order the group pictures went home in Friday Folders. For Track 2, they will be sent home on Monday. If you did not receive an envelope, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Transition to Middle School Information for 5th Grade Families

On Wednesday March 30th we will host a virtual MS Transition information session for parents.  The speaker for this event is Mr. Jack Martin, School Counselor from Pine Hollow Middle School.  The times and virtual links are as follows:

PTA Updates

Yearbook: Work continues on the 2021-22 BCES Yearbook ($12.74+shipping). Fall student portraits from Lifetouch have been uploaded to class pages. If you missed having fall pictures taken at the school, you can still ensure your child appears in the yearbook by completing a Portrait Form. We would love your general school memories as well - simply complete the Community Photo Form. Note: The ship-to-home cost will increase by $1 effective March 15th - order now and save! For additional Yearbook details and order links, click here.

I hope each of you has a wonderful week!

In partnership,
