Greetings Parents! Below are some important announcements for you: 

Learning This Week 

  • There are no asynchronous days this week. All students will have live instruction on their regular schedule Monday through Friday.
  • Specials this week begins with Day FIVE on Monday through Day THREE on Friday. (6-day rotation for in-person students)



Picture Day Rescheduled

In-Person 1st Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade students will have their pictures taken on Tuesday, March 23. Make-up pictures will be taken on Wednesday, March 24, for both in-person and Virtual Academy students. VA students will need to schedule an appointment online



Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) K-5 Updates: Last Day for SSA Test Requests- March 22nd

Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) is the practice of placing a student in a higher-grade level in one subject area. This type of acceleration is for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities in either math or English Language Arts. The test request window for Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) will close after March 22nd. No test requests will be accepted after March 22nd. I have sent a confirmation email to all families who have recently submitted a request. If you submitted a request but did not receive an email from please complete the form again. Parents Are Connected Night: Mark your calendars for April 27th! 

We are excited to invite you to a night centered around some of the amazing things going on virtually and in the classroom at BCES! Topics such as play in learning, Letterland, equity, and middle school preparation are just a few of the sessions that will be offered! There will be live and recorded options for viewing. Virtual Academy Families: Mark Your Calendars for 4th Quarter (Q4) Material Distribution

We will have two options for Q4 material pick up:

  • Monday, April 12, from 4:00-7:00 pm
  • Tuesday, April 13, from 8:00-10:00 am

Remember, Q4 instruction begins on Wednesday, April 14. We will also be collecting any school-owned materials, such as EL books, that won’t be needed in Q4. To see exactly what will be collected, please click here
