No Makeup Day for Friday, 2/21

In preparation for missed days due to weather, the district ensured extra time was built in to the calendar. This allows us to count “banked time” towards the missed day on Friday, February 21. Therefore, there will NOT be a makeup day for Friday 2/21!

Track Change Request Period

For Brier Creek families who wish to change tracks next year, the Track Change Request Period will be open March 23-April 2. Stay tuned to Principal's Posts, Flight Forecast, and website for more information.

Census 2020 Information

The 2020 Census will be starting soon! If you need access to a computer to complete the census, please let us know and we are happy to help you here at school. It is important that all families complete the census. Local programs that support health insurance, hospitals, childcare, food assistance and early childhood development are impacted by the funding generated through an accurate Census 2020 count.  These programs support our students and their families. Filling out the 2020 Census is one easy way to provide resources for children and our community for the next 10 years!

PTA News and Updates from your PTA President, Brittany Wells

  • The Track 3 and 4 Olympics kicked off February 20th.  Help your child’s class earn rewards by registering your child at www.pledgestar.com/BrierCreek , and sending 5 emails to family and friends.  For more information about the Olympics visit:  http://briercreekpta.org/bcesolympics/ .
  • The PTA does not use an outside company to help with the Olympics fundraiser so 100% of the money raised goes towards our students, school, and staff which means we need LOTS of volunteers to help make the Track 3 and 4 Olympics  fun and successful.  To volunteer and help earn points for your child’s team sign up at:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090d4faea82eab9-round1 .
  • Our next family night is Friday, February 28th from 6-9pm at Warrior Tech!  The cost is $20 per child, and they will donate $3 back to the PTA per person.  We hope you can come out for what is sure to be a fun night with fellow jets!
  • Kindergarten and 1st grade will be hosting a breakfast themed snack for the BCES staff on Friday, March 6th.  If you are able to donate an item, please sign up:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090D4FAEA82EAB9-kindergarten5 .
  • We are looking for more pictures to include in the BCES yearbook.  We specifically are looking for pictures of field trips and other school events, and will be accepting them until March 31st.  For information on how to order a yearbook or how to submit photos visit: http://briercreekpta.org/yearbook/ .
  • The PTA needs volunteers to help with getting the Edukits organized for the 2020-2021 school year.  Edukits are the convenient way parents can pay a set amount, and their students' school supplies are waiting in their classroom on the 1st day of school. Planning is already underway.  If you are interested, please email Brittany.S.Wells@gmail.com .

Please look for the weekly email from your child’s teacher and check your child’s grade-level website for additional information. Grade-level websites can be found here. Please reach out to your child’s teacher(s) with any questions.
