Flight Forecast for February

February’s Flight Forecast will be sent home in Friday Folders on Monday, February 10. You can go ahead and check it out here!

Single Subject Acceleration (SSA)

Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) is the practice of assigning a student to a higher-grade level than is typical, given the student’s age, for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities in either math or English/language arts (not both). If you plan to nominate your child, be sure to look at the following resources also linked above; SSA Website , SSA FAQ , SSA Information. It is also helpful to have a conversation with your child’s teacher to get their feedback on this option for your child. Nomination forms will be available at the front desk or you can reach out to Melissa Gough at mgough@wcpss.net on the first day of your tracks test request window listed below. No nominations will be accepted before or after the deadlines. There are no exceptions to this.  Please reach out to Melissa Gough (SSA contact) with any other questions at mgough@wcpss.net.

Track 1: February 24th-28th

Tracks 2, 3, & 4: March 23rd-March 27th

Valentine’s Day at School

While we recognize that many students and families have fun traditions for Valentine’s Day, we also ask that these celebrations be at home rather than at school. The school will not accept deliveries for students.Students will not be permitted to carry gift items to class. Individual classes may have activities planned, please check with your child’s teacher for more information.
