Registration Now Open for Spring Activities

Girls on the Run

Activate your girl's limitless potential and register online now to sign your 3rd-5thgrade girl for our Brier Creek Girls on the Run team. The team meets Tuesday and Thursday 4-5:15pm throughout the 10-week spring season, starting February 4  We’ll celebrate with an end-of-season 5k for the girls, coaches, families and community on Sat., April 25.

Why should I sign her up? “This program builds girls up, it empowers them, encourages them, and best of all shows them what amazing human beings they already are.” –Coach Nora

  • Over the course of the 10-week program, trained coaches lead girls in grades 3-8 in lessons to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one-of-a-kind.
  • Your girl learns to set goals, resolve conflict, help others, manage emotions and make intentional decisions to boost their well-being and confidence.
  • Girls don't need to be runners or even like running. Teams include girls of all physical abilities and fitness levels.
  • Girls on the Run has had proven, long-term positive pact on the lives of girls across the Triangle for 18 years, setting it apart from other youth development programs.

PTA News and Updates from your PTA President, Brittany Wells

  • We are about to kick off the PTA's BIGGEST fundraiser- The BCES Olympics.  Tracks 1 and 2 will take place January 23- February 5, and Tracks 3 and 4 will take place February 20- March 4.  For the past three years, the PTA has kept this fundraiser in house so we can keep 100% of the profits from our hard work.  This means we will need LOTS of volunteers to have a successful fundraiser from both the financial side and the FUN side for our students.  If you are able to help out, please signup using the link below. Your child's team will receive 5 pom pom points every time you volunteer. For more information about the Olympics visit:
  • The BCES Yearbook is still available for purchase through the PTA website.  We are also looking for pictures to be considered for the yearbook. If you have any pictures from field trips or school events, please visit our website for instructions on how to submit them.
  • Save the date for our next family night out at Warrior Tech on February 28th from 6-9pm.  We will send out more information when we get closer to the date.
  • We are still looking for a couple people to help organize our Edukits for next year.  These are the boxes of school supplies families can order in place of taking their school supplies list to Target, Walmart, Staples, etc.  For more information, visit: .

Please look for the weekly email from your child’s teacher and check your child’s grade-level website for additional information. Grade-level websites can be found here. Please reach out to your child’s teacher(s) with any questions.

My Jets Best,

Kathy Livengood, Principal
