Incident Last Week

To ensure parents are informed, I sent you this message last Monday regarding an incident that occurred on our campus. Staff was informed as well and the message I shared with you was also shared with them. Thank you to those who reached out with encouragement and expressions of trust and support. I am confident that our school remains a safe place for our students and staff and that our students and staff were never in harm’s way and there was no direct threat or danger to us. I cannot speak about any further details of this incident or the child involved, as protecting the confidential information of all children is of the utmost importance. While I cannot speak to a specific child or incident, the school district’s policies on this are very clear. Bringing even a toy gun to campus is a very serious offense. In Board Policy, it is a Level III infraction, which means it is a violation that may support long-term suspension.

A New Jet Has Landed!

Congratulations to 1st Grade Teacher Cortnee Hill on the birth of her daughter! Mikayla Amari was born at 2:50 am Sunday morning weighing 6 lbs, 4 oz. Mom, dad, and baby are all doing well and trying to get some rest!

Mary-Elizabeth Robinson - Our Newest High Flyer!

Last week, last month’s High Flyer honoree, Melissa Gough, presented the award to this month’s honoree, Mary-Elizabeth Robinson! The High Flyer Award is passed from one staff member to another each month as a way to recognize staff members who go above and beyond the call of duty. Ms. Robinson is a 5th Grade Teacher, serves on the School Leadership Team, and is Nationally Board Certified. Ms. Gough shared she chose Ms. Robinson to receive this award because of her commitment to her team, her kindness, her dedication to all of the 5th grade students, her positive attitude, and her leadership.  She makes learning fun for her students while also holding them to high standards. Ms. Robinson is an inspiration to the staff at Brier Creek!

Proctors Still Needed!

We are looking for approved volunteers who would be willing to be proctors for EOG testing in grades 3-5. Please see the sign up genius for Tracks 2-4 for more information and to sign up and support us.  We greatly appreciate you considering volunteering your time!! Any questions can be directed to Melissa Gough at
