Our first day of EOG testing was a success! A big shout out to Shelly Cox, our testing coordinator for her leadership! Thank you!
Free Breakfast for EOG Students

Students in grades 3-4-5 who are taking the EOGs are eligible to eat free breakfast on Wednesday, May 31st and Thursday, June 1st. If your child is interested in eating free breakfast on one or both of these days, he/she should report to the cafeteria after arriving at school.

Library Books:

Student library book checkout ended Friday May 26, 2023. All books should be returned by Friday Jun 2, 2023. Students can see what books they have checked out by logging into their Wake ID portal and choosing Follett Destiny Discover. Checkouts are listed under the “My Stuff” menu.

Student Chromebooks:
-
1st through 4th grade students will keep their Chromebooks over the summer. 5th graders and any students leaving WCPSS will turn in their devices and chargers. We will collect 5th grade devices and chargers on Jun 7, 2023. 5th graders will be issued new devices when they arrive at middle school.

Super Kids Day- June 7th

It’s time for STOUGH STUDENTS to celebrate the end of the school year with SUPER KIDS DAY! This wonderful field day will only be possible with plenty of parent volunteers to help run the events!

We need your help! This fun event is easy – no timing events, no keeping score. You just need to come with a smile, energy, and encouragement for our young participants.

Please sign up to volunteer for a block of time(s) that you are available. You can sign up for a particular event on Super Kids Day when you arrive on June 7th.

Save the Date for our Wax Museum- 5th Grade Families

Families of our 5th grade students, We invite you to view our Wax Museum event here at the school on Tuesday, June 6th from 10:00am-11:00am, outside in the field near the bus loop. Students participating in this event have chosen an influential American to embody. They will dress up in costume and recite information about important contributions their chosen American made to our society. Please check in at the front office and make your way through to the playground area.
Celebration Ceremony for 5th grade students

This year our celebration ceremony for 5th grade students will take place on Friday, June 9th from 11:30am-12:30pm.

Due to limited space, each 5th grade student will be given two tickets for guests to attend the ceremony. For safety reasons, all visitors must enter through the front doors. Tickets will be collected at the door.

Pictures with parents can be taken outside on the front lawn from 12:30-1:00 pm.

Our PTA will be hosting lunch and an outdoor celebration for 5th grade students only. Parents are welcome to sign up to volunteer to help with this celebration, but only volunteers will be permitted to stay on campus after the ceremony.

Wake county has modified our process to allow volunteers to sign up from any location, instead of being required to sign up at a school or WCPSS facility. Volunteers may access the signup link via the Community/Volunteer tab or https://www.wcpss.net/domain/42.
Positivity Project: May 29-June 2: Other People Matter Mindset (Review).

For the remainder of the school year, we will be reviewing the character traits we have learned this year.

To practice and encourage these character traits with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2) where together you will watch a video, read a quote and talk about the answers to three questions.
