Principal's Message, 1-14-22
Greetings Stough Families,
We've reached the halfway point of the school year! Quarter three begins Wednesday, and report cards go home next Friday.
1. Next week is a three-day week for students. Monday is the Martin Luther King holiday. Tuesday is a Teacher Workday.
2. I need to pause to praise our staff and families for all that is happening to continue to promote health and wellbeing on our campus. These times are not easy, and adherence to safety protocols by all the adults involved in our community has been vital to our ongoing efforts. THANK YOU FAMILIES.
You may have heard that all WCPSS schools will begin offering weekly COVID testing on-campus. This testing will begin at Stough starting the last week of January. Below is the message from WCPSS with a link to register for this voluntary program:
Wake County Public School System, in partnership with MAKO Medical, will begin offering weekly, on-campus COVID-19 testing for students and staff. COVID-19 testing is an effective way to reduce transmission, especially when layered with other precautionary measures. WCPSS strongly recommends all families participate in this free program. Participation helps safeguard the wellbeing of the entire school community and gives you information to help you keep your children healthy.
Participation in the program is voluntary. A parent or guardian must register any student under 18 years old in order to participate. To learn more about COVID-19 testing, visit www.MAKOstrongschoolsNC.com.
This page on the WCPSS website has some additional FAQ's at the bottom.
3. This week in P2, we studied prudence. Next week we move into my favorite trait, perseverance. If I were to choose one trait that has been consistently demonstrated by our school community over the past two years, it would be perseverance.
To help extend the learning in the classroom to your students' homes, please check out P2 for Families. The password is: P2.
4. For Fifth Grade Families who missed Tuesday's virtual meeting on going to middle school, Mrs. Shaw and Mrs. Shumake have provided the slides here. Please feel free to reach out to either of them if you have questions. Their contact information is embedded in the presentation.
