Principal's Message, 1-1-21
Greetings Stough Families,
And, Happy New Year! I hope for blessing and growth for each of you and your families as we begin 2021. This is a brief message to remind you of what to expect in the coming weeks.
1. The School Board approved a return to full remote learning for the first two weeks of school in January. From January 4-15, all Stough students will learn from home. We will return to our fully remote live schedule (like in Quarter 1). In short, this means that students should log in to Google Meets from 9:15-11:15 and 1:15-3:15 each day. Teacher Office Hours generally fall at the end of each school day. More specific details will come from your child's teacher(s).
*Note, some students will be invited to smaller virtual meetings at separate times outside of these two learning sessions.
*January 6 and 13 are still considered asynchronous, remote learning days.
2. As of this update, students in "Plan A" will still return to school at the start of the third quarter, January 20. For those who are curious, we are looking at ~300 students returning to campus at that time (currently we have ~200 students on-campus). For elementary students, there are no longer cohort rotations. All regional programs and K-5 students will attend school daily for the spring semester (unless further District or State changes occur).
3. All families who signed up for the Spring Virtual Academy received a confirmation email in December. If you did not receive this email, your student is currently slated to return to campus on January 20. If this is an error and you would like to access the Virtual Academy for the spring, please email Mrs. Zetocha (bzetocha@wcpss.net).
4. We are tentatively planning our Quarter 3 Materials Distribution on the Teacher Workday, January 19. We will update you with specific times in the next Friday message.
Best wishes to all for a prosperous year ahead!
Chris Cox, Principal
