3. We hope to see everyone at our Closing Ceremony on Thursday evening, June 6. Here's the website to RSVP or donate: 50 Years of Stough ... Here are the details:
- Come find a spot on the lawn between 5:30-6pm. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Enjoy something from one of four food trucks we have scheduled.
- The ceremony will start at 6pm with student and staff speakers as well as performances. Current Stough students are all invited to sing at the end of the program. They will be asked to approach the risers at the front of the school close to 6:30pm.
- Once the program is done, the doors of the school will be opened for self-guided tours, activities, banner signings, and cake walks. The food trucks will continue to serve food outside. We will have music playing and a bounce house for the kids, thanks to the YMCA.
- The PTA will be selling the "Helen Y. Stough" Anniversary T-shirts as well as engraved pavers to be installed at the "New" Stough in 2020.
4. Here's a cool opportunity for any of our families who wish you had more books for your kids in Mandarin. Online Mandarin Book Fair ... For this round of purchases, please have the books shipped directly to your personal address as we will not be able to distribute these while we are packing up the school in June.
5. To our Magnet and Walk-zone families, remember to sign-up (if interested) for your child to be registered for the shuttle stop from Laurel Hills Park to Barton Pond for the 2019-20 school year. This is not for BASE families! Here's the form: Shuttle Stop to/from Barton Pond
Lastly, here's to you Stough Parents. You have made it through ~173 days of school. We're excited about the last seven days, and we're grateful for all you do to support our teachers and staff as we do our best to guide your kids in the way they should go. It's a privilege.
Best regards,
Chris Cox, Principal
