Brentwood Families,

Hope you had a great weekend!

This school year, there have been incidents at other Wake County schools where students have been injured during arrival or dismissal. Procedures have been put in place at Brentwood to ensure safety and supervision of students during a very high traffic time.

Please reference these reminders to help ensure students are safe during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal:

  • Open Hours: Students should not be dropped off when supervision is not present.  School supervision in designated areas starts at 8:00 AM, when the school opens.  Please do not bring your child or drop them off prior to that time, because there will be no supervision to ensure your child is safe.
  • Parking: If you would like to walk your child to the building, please park in the marked parking spaces.  To ensure fire lanes and other no parking areas remain open and accessible, do not park anywhere other than a marked parking space.  Students should not be dropped off in any area other than carpool.
  • Walkers: All requests for students to be walkers must be approved by a school administrator in advance based on walk zone eligibility.  Please do not park on Ingram Drive and ask your child to walk up to meet you there, as this is extremely unsafe for your child and other families driving out of carpool.  Students who are eligible to be walkers but are being picked up in a vehicle must be picked up through carpool instead.
  • Carpool: All K-5 students who are being transported by a vehicle must be dropped off or picked up through the carpool line.  Please do not ask students to meet you at any other place.
