Principal’s Message

Greetings Washington Families,

Mrs. Burnette returns on April 3rd. It has been a great ride for me. Washington GT is an awesome school (as you know) with great staff taking care of kiddos. It has been my pleasure to get to see the outstanding work being done to support all students. I wish each of you the best.

Let’s make it a great week at 1000 Fayetteville Street!

Magically,

Doug Hooper, Interim Principal

Joyce Ratley, Assistant Principal

School Updates

Congratulations to our Odyssey of the Mind “Where’s the Structure?” team who advanced to the World Finals this weekend!!! They will travel to Michigan in May for a final competition!  Our Wiz kids are simply the best!!! Stay tuned for more information!

This week is a short week, with a Teacher Workday on Friday. Please remind your children that they are still in learning mode, and to follow S.T.A.R. expectations. Spring Break is coming!

Reminders:

Toys are not allowed on campus unless directed by the teacher for special events. This includes Pokemon Cards, handheld games/devices, and other items you or your child may value. These items may be taken to the office for parents' pick up if they are used or displayed during the school day.

Student lunch accounts are accessible by parents to add funds or place spending limits. It has been noticed by staff that several students purchase multiple snack items daily, for themselves and/or their friends. Please monitor your child’s account and set limits accordingly, if desired. You can access lunch accounts online at MySchoolBucks.com or call (855) 832-5226.

Encourage your child to read each night. They can read about things that interest them, like biographies about their favorite actor, singer, or athlete. When they find something they’re excited about, they are more likely to read about it. During the break, check out your nearest library for interesting ideas! 📖
