Principal’s Message

Greetings Washington Families,

I know how crazy life can be and the demands placed on parents. I want to encourage you to take time for yourself so you can refresh. Also, make time for your kiddos to just chill with you. All kids take their cues from adults - do they see you taking time to get refreshed?

Hope by the time you read this you have had a great weekend and will have a wonderful week. Choose to make it awesome!!

Let’s make it a great week at 1000 Fayetteville Street!

Magically,

Doug Hooper, Interim Principal

Joyce Ratley, Assistant Principal

School Updates

February is Love the Bus month!!  Be sure to thank your child’s bus driver this month, or during this week!  This week is Bus Driver Appreciation Week. Some drivers drive 6 or more routes daily and work tirelessly to ensure students arrive at school and back home safe and sound.  Thank a Bus Driver today!

Third-quarter electives are underway! Students are enjoying their new classes and making new friends. Ask your child how they feel their electives are going.

Most weeks, we have early morning meetings and late bus duty, with countless tasks in between. These things have staff scrambling at times for a break or a refresh. Our amazing Washington PTA has started to “stock the breakroom” with snacks and beverages that staff can grab throughout their busy day!  You don’t have to be a member of the PTA to contribute to the “snack bins.” You can send in snacks/treats with your child, drop them off at carpool, or stop by the school and let the receptionist know the items are for the teachers’ lounge.  We appreciate it more than you know!  Thank you, WES PTA!! You are aWESome!!

Wizard PTA Updates

Have them showcase a painting, sculpture, or drawing based on the "Kindness" theme!!  All kids are welcome to participate in Washington's Arts and Letters Night!
