BOLTS Broadcast - March 24-28, 2025

NOTE FROM MS. HANNA

We’ve had a wonderful week this week, but we are so excited about what’s coming up!  Next week we have our last 6th grade dance for the school year and our Rising 6th Grade Open House!  These events are always fun!

Check out the PTA’s section below. There are several new ways to get involved and announcements about some ways to engage in our 8th grade end of year festivities!  Thank you for supporting our PTA!!!

You can click here to view a weekly newsletter from our classroom teachers.

HOSPITALITY HOMIES NEED YOUR HELP TO LOVE OUR TEACHERS!

We have a group of staff who form a committee called Hospitality Homies that spread cheer and fun among our staff!  They are asking for your help as we head into Quarter 4! They are launching a "March Madness Letter Push" and need your help. Encourage your children to write thank-you notes to their teachers, sharing what they love about their classes or a memorable moment. These letters mean the world to our teachers and brighten their days!

Let's not forget our amazing elective teachers, counselors, custodians, Media Specialist, office staff, Assistant Principals, and specialized teachers/IAs. They often miss out on these gestures, so a note from your child would be extra special. Thank you for joining us in this heartfelt initiative. Your support helps make our school community a warmer, more appreciative place.

STUDENT SERVICES

Our student services department needs your help restocking their supply closet. If you are able, please choose items from their Amazon Wishlist. You can ship directly to our school (attention: Marta Barbian) or can drop items off at our front office. Thank you for supporting our students!

ART CLUB

🎨 Art Club is Back! 🎨

After a successful interest meeting, Art Club is officially up and running again! We’ll meet next on 3/27 at 3:30 to start diving into creative projects and ideas. Spread the word to any students who might be interested, and stay tuned for all the fun things we have planned! As a reminder, students must be picked up at 4:30 in the carpool loop.   For any questions please email Ms. Stone at tstone@wcpss.net.

SPRING SPORTS SAFETY

As a reminder, when students are tracked out they should be dropped off via carpool at 3:15.  Student pick-up after athletics is always on the Bus Loop side of our building. We appreciate you working with us to ensure all of our students are safe by following these procedures.

ATHLETICS THIS WEEK

This week we look forward to seeing you for the following athletic events:

  • Monday, March 24th - Softball @ Apex
  • Tuesday, March 25th - Soccer @ Apex Friendship
  • Wednesday, March 26th - Track @ Holly Ridge
  • Thursday, March 27th - Softball @ West Lake

DRESS CODE REMINDERS

As the weather has gotten warmer, our students’ attire sometimes changes.  Please take a moment to review the WCPSS Dress Code policy with your child.  We most frequently find ourselves needing to remind students that their outfits should cover their skin from “chest to mid-thigh with opaque fabric in front, back, and on the side.”  We appreciate your help in ensuring our students are dressed according to the policy each day!

6th GRADE DANCE

We have our final dance for 6th grade on Friday, March 28th from 3:30-5:30PM.  The permission slip for the dance can be found here.  Students will also receive a paper copy from their teachers.

PARKING LOT SURVEY

Sometime in the coming weeks, there will be a crew conducting a parking lot survey. This may be during carpool, but should not impact our ability to receive and dismiss students. I share this with you, so you’re aware of why you may see folks in our parking lot doing work during carpool times. They are doing the preliminary steps to begin the process of repaving our parking lot.
