BOLTS Broadcast - March 10-14, 2025
What a fun week! Right now we are bougeying on the dance floor with over 200 7th graders! Thank you to our PTA volunteers for supporting this event! Earlier this week we welcomed our families for our Spring Sports Family Information Session. Thank you to the many families who joined us!
Please join me in wishing our band students well at their MPA competition this coming week! This is the band equivalency of an EOG! We know they are ready and can’t wait to see them perform! We also have our NJHS Induction ceremony on Tuesday night at 5:30! Students participating in the ceremony should be at school no later than 5:00PM.
Lastly, make sure you check out the section below about our Motto, as we need your input! We’ve had a group of staff and students working throughout this year to help us adopt a new motto for next school year. For 26 years we have had the motto, “When Lightning Strikes, Great Things Happen” and while it has served us well, we’re excited to update it!
SOCIAL WORKER WEEK!
Please join us in celebrating our school’s Social Worker, Ms. Abbi Williams, during Social Worker Appreciation Week this week! Ms. Williams is a tremendous support and resource for our families!
SPRING SPORTS PHOTOS
Spring Sport Pictures will be held on Friday, March 14th at 3:15 pm. Coaches will distribute order forms to each student-athlete.
SPRING SPORTS SAFETY
As a reminder, when students are tracked out they should be dropped off via carpool at 3:15. Student pick-up after athletics is always on the Bus Loop side of our building. We appreciate you working with us to ensure all of our students are safe by following these procedures.
LUFKIN’S MOTTO:
Lufkin Road Middle School’s current motto, “When Lightning Strikes, Great Things Happen,” has served us well—but it’s time for a fresh spark! A team of staff and students has been brainstorming a new motto to kick off the upcoming school year, and we NEED your input. Click this link to vote for the motto that best represents our school. Your voice matters, and we can’t wait to see what you choose!
Vote now! The form closes on March 14th—don’t miss your chance to help shape Lufkin’s future!
PARKING LOT SURVEY
Sometime in the coming weeks, there will be a crew conducting a parking lot survey. This may be during carpool, but should not impact our ability to receive and dismiss students. I share this with you, so you’re aware of why you may see folks in our parking lot doing work during carpool times. They are doing the preliminary steps to begin the process of repaving our parking lot.
NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTIONS (NJHS)
We are excited to welcome our invited students and their families to our NJHS Induction Ceremony on March 11th at 5:30 PM in the gym. Students are asked to arrive by 5:00 PM. Please refer to the Canvas page for more details.
As a reminder, to be eligible for NJHS students must meet all of these requirements:

RAMADAN
If your child would like an alternative space during lunch while observing Ramadan, please reach out to their classroom teacher. In previous years, we’ve provided the conference room as a quiet space for students during this time, and we’re happy to accommodate again. Let us know how we can support your child!
