BOLTS Broadcast - February 10-14, 2025

NOTE FROM MS. HANNA

We had a great week!  Congratulations to our Girls’ Basketball team on their wins against Apex Middle School and West Lake Middle School!  Great job!!  Thank you to our families who were able to join us for our PTA meeting on Wednesday night!  Your attendance and participation matters!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and while it’s all about friendship and kindness, we also know it can be a tricky time for middle schoolers. At this age, emotions can run high—whether it’s excitement, disappointment, or just the awkwardness of figuring it all out.

We encourage conversations at home about kindness and resilience. A simple reminder that their worth isn’t tied to a peer, relationship, or cards can go a long way. At school, we’ll be fostering a supportive environment, emphasizing that Valentine’s Day is about appreciation for all—not just romantic gestures.  If your child has concerns or feelings about the day, we’re here to support them. Middle school is a journey, and we’re walking it together—one heart-shaped sticker at a time.

Please note that large stuffed animals, balloons, and similar items distract from the learning environment and are highly discouraged.  Items that distract from learning will be placed in the office until dismissal for pick-up by the student.

We need your help! Our small but mighty PTA is working incredibly hard to raise funds for programs and resources that directly benefit your child(ren)—but we can’t do it without you!  Your contribution, big or small, helps fund student activities, teacher grants, and those little extras that make our school a fantastic place to learn and grow. At our meeting on Wednesday, we had to make the difficult decision to cut programs that the PTA has been able to support in the past due to a shortfall in financial support this year.

So, let’s show our Lufkin pride (and love) and make a donation as you are able to do so today! You can donate easily by clicking here.  Every dollar counts, and together, we can make a BIG impact!  Thank you for your support—we truly appreciate you!
