Quick Notes/Updates:
Kindergarten Reminder: Students that are eligible for a guaranteed seat MUST register for Kindergarten by March 1st or FORFEIT the guarantee. The eligibility guidelines include:

Have a sibling currently attending WOES that will also be attending WOES next year, and/or
-
The family moved into their home prior to our cap date, February 4, 2020.

Student Health Reminders
Despite the recent 70 degree temperatures, the calendar says it is winter and with the season comes colds & flu. Please remember this important information to help protect your children -- and their classmates -- when they're under the weather, so that they can return to the classroom healthy and ready to learn.
When your child is sick:
The best thing you can do is to keep your children home when sick. This will help stop the spread of illness to other children and staff. Keep them home when they show any of these symptoms:
- Fever of 100.4 or higher
- Diarrhea
- Nausea and Vomiting
- Severe headache
- Red, watery eyes with yellow discharge
- Undiagnosed rash
- Inability to attend learning activities
- Change in student’s typical medical status
Children should stay home until they have been fever-free without medication for at least 24 hours and free from nausea, vomiting and diarrhea for at least 12 hours.
Do NOT give children fever-reducing, anti-nausea/vomiting or anti-diarrhea medication and then send them to school. Medications wear off after lunch (during math) when symptoms can impact student learning.

Parent Volunteers for the Spring Carnival
Thank you to the parents who attended our Spring Carnival Parent Volunteer Meeting last Thursday morning! Planning and executing the Spring Carnival is a big undertaking, so this year, we are dividing the work into committees:
- Donations/Fundraising
- Games/Activities
- Communications
- Decorations
- Food Trucks/Concessions
If you missed our meeting but are still interested in helping out and would like more information, please contact Maura Lever at mauralever@yahoo.com, and please let us know in what way you would most like to lend a hand!
White Oak PTA Funds at Work!
The installation of the new sun shade is complete! The basketball hoop should be installed soon as well, thanks to the generosity of our White Oak community!
General PTA Meeting

Red Robin Spirit Night
Our next spirit night is on Tuesday, February 6th at Red Robin (1431 Beaver Creek Commons, Apex) from 5-9pm! Please wear your White Oak spirit wear, enter our student raffle, and receive a 10% off coupon for your next visit! Red Robin will be donating 20% to White Oak and they are prepared for our crowds. Please join us!

Snapology of Raleigh is back for winter/spring sessions. The club will take place on Wednesdays from 3:45-5:00. Classes are limited to 25 spaces.
