PTSA Information & News
Please join us for our first General PTSA meeting this Monday, September 9 at 7PM in the Media Center. This is your chance to participate in reviewing and voting on our draft budget, and the funding we provide for student and faculty support and programs, including increased funding for Educator Grants!
We need volunteers to help with Picture Day on September 16 and 17. Please sign up on our Volunteer Sign Up Genius to help! This is a fun way to volunteer and work directly with students.
Our PTSA Parent Session Series 1 featuring speaker Casie Hall is set for Thursday, September 26 from 6 to 7:30PM in the Media Center. The topic is “Parenting Teens Today-Communication, Media, Influences and Solutions.” Casie is a Licensed Professional Counselor, CRC, LPC, LCASA with Three Oaks Behavioral Health and Wellness, PLLC in Raleigh. Casie gave an amazing talk last spring about teen addiction and how to have a positive, communicative relationship with your teen, which was very well received by parents. This will be the first of three sessions at MHS this year where Casie will speak on a different topic at each session. We highly recommend parents attend and you can Signup here for those sessions if you like the ability to add things into your calendar!! :) View THIS Flyer for more information.
We are so grateful to everyone who has joined, donated or volunteered!! Please consider joining/donating now if you haven’t already so we can start providing much needed support early in the school year. The PTSA is already more than halfway to our goal of 350 members, and we are just shy of 6K raised in our No Fuss Fundraising drive. To fulfill our budget we need to have 14K donated!! Remember that money raised now is spent on kids and classrooms NOW - we don’t hold it, the goal is to fund teacher needs very quickly so kids experience them all year.
