Salamander News 09/27/2021
Parents,
I posted this message on the website on Thursday, but I now realize that I did not send out my message as I had thought. I have added some updates before I sent it out again. I apologize for the lack of timely communication on some of the topics below.

New information . . .
Lockdown Drill Complete
As we mentioned in our last newsletter, schools are required to hold lockdown drills each year. During lockdown drills, students and staff practice what we would do if there were a potential or immediate threat in the school. Students and staff lock doors and huddle out of view quietly. We held our first lockdown drill yesterday (last Wednesday) morning. The drill took approximately 10 minutes, and the students and staff did very well. Teachers adjusted their explanation of the lockdown drill based on the age of their students.
Fun Run Update
The Fun Run is now complete for all tracks! With your help, we far exceeded our goal. In total, we raised over $106,000 to support the school! Throughout this effort, students learned how to be positive leaders and had so much fun! Click here for this year's Fun Run highlights.
