Return to Headlines

July 14, 2021

We are looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks for an exciting 2021-22 school year.  Staff returns the week of July 26, so you will be receiving assignment letters along with additional information late next week or the beginning of the week of July 26th.  Until then...here are a few updates from Vance.

On Thursday, July 29th we will have kindergarten orientation from 3:00-4:00 p.m.  We will also be having 1st-5th grade "Meet the Teacher" from 4:00-6:00 p.m on July 29th.  At this time masks are still required inside the school building, so a mask will be required for you to enter that afternoon.

We will be returning to our normal bell schedule this year allowing students to enter the building at 8:45 a.m and starting school at 9:15 a.m, and ending the school day at 3:45 p.m.  Carpool will start at 3:45 p.m and we will have the no left hand turn sign at the entrance, as we are returning to full capacity and have added a construction element down the road, which may have an impact on our drop-off and pick up process.

We will be starting the Before School Care program on the first day of school.  More information will be sent home the week of July 26 when staff returns to school.  We are hoping to have enough interest to start and maintain the program throughout the school year, as we know this benefits many of you.  We are hoping to have visitors and volunteers this year.  More information regarding this will come closer to the start of school as we receive more guidance from the county.

We look forward to a wonderful year working with each and every one of you finding your child's success stories and helping them continue to flourish.   Vance Elementary School truly is a special place, and we look forward to making this a spectacular year.
