Athletics

This week we kick off our Fall Athletic Season.  If you plan to attend any of the home games this year, please use this MAP as a guide on where to park.

Students are welcome to stay after school to attend the games and cheer on their peers.  We will make an announcement at the end of the day with instructions on where students should report if they are staying for the athletic games.  Tickets cost $6 and can be purchased through the GoFan app or with cash at the event.  We accept cash at all athletic events.

Fundraiser Kick-Off

We’re thrilled to announce an exciting way to support Fuquay-Varina Middle School! On September 25, 2024, we will kick off our ROAR FOR MORE fundraiser, aimed at raising essential funds for our students and staff.

What Will the Funds Support?

    • Educational resources for students and staff
    • Cultural arts programming
    • Family engagement events
    • Hospitality
    • Field trip subsidies
    • Technology subscriptions

We’re excited about the impact this fundraiser will have and can’t wait to get started!

A Few Things to Note:

    • The program is incredibly easy for you—just a few minutes of your time is all it takes.
    • Students can earn rewards at the individual, classroom, and school-wide levels!
    • This is an online, donation-based fundraiser. You can share donation requests via email or text with friends and family anywhere in the world. (We also accept cash and checks!)
    • Students will receive more details later this week after our Launch Party presentation on Wednesday, September 25th. Please help your student register and share their fundraiser page with friends, family, and on social media that night. Students who complete their registration and share their page on the first night will receive popsicles this week!

Thank you for your support, and let’s make this fundraiser a huge success!

Fall Picture Day

Students will take their fall pictures on Friday, September 27th.  Students should have received their picture forms during homeroom last week.  If you did not receive a form, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher.  We will have a make-up day for pictures next month for students that are absent on Friday.

AIG Nominations

The goal of the Academically/Intellectually Gifted Program (AIG) is to provide an appropriately challenging educational program for students who perform, or show potential for performing, at remarkably high levels of accomplishment when compared to others of their age, experience, or environment.

If you would like to nominate your child for AIG consideration, please use this tool to inform and guide you through the process. https://forms.gle/FwUJPzCUksDGsspt7

(Students who are already identified do not need to reapply, unless it is to add an additional area of service.)

Winter Guard Program

The Holly Springs Junior Hawks is a winter guard program open to all middle-school aged students. It is a fun, unique experience. If you have seen the color guard in marching bands, this is similar except it is indoors and to recorded music. This program will give your student experience that he/she could transfer to the high school level. Both FVHS and WSHS have winter guard programs. Check it out.

Rock the Vote

There is an amazing opportunity for students and their families to participate in—Rock The Vote, happening on October 19th, 2024, at Campbell University Law School.

This event is designed to educate and empower students and their communities on the importance of civic engagement, voting rights, and the power of making their voices heard. There will be interactive sessions, guest speakers, and a chance for students to learn firsthand how they can make a difference in their communities. It’s a great way for students to get involved early and develop an understanding of their role as future voters and active citizens.  You may click on this LINK for the flyer and the QR code to register.
