Mr. Clark's Bengal Message for the week of 02/14/2021


Good Evening Bengal Family, this is Mr. Clark, Principal at Fuquay-Varina Middle School, with your weekly Bengal Message.  



New Announcements


We hope that you are as excited as we are to welcome our students back into the school for in-person instruction this week starting with Cohort 2/B.  If your student attended school during our first rotations or if this is their first time, we can’t wait to see their smiling faces on Wednesday, February 17th.  We have worked hard to establish procedures and protocols to ensure the safety of our staff and students.  Please take some time to review the Plan B Guidelines with your child if you have not done so already.  If you have any questions about the Plan B guidelines, please don’t hesitate to email Mr. Clark at


No School on February 15 & 16

As a reminder, students do not have school on Monday, February 15th and Tuesday, February 16th.  In addition, the school building will be closed on Monday, February 15th.  We will reopen on Tuesday, February 16th.  


Plan B Students - Cohort B

As stated earlier, students assigned to Cohort 2/B will report to school this week for in-person instruction.  Only students assigned to Cohort 2/B should report to school on February 17th.  If a student reports to school that has been assigned to a different cohort, we will be contacting the guardians to have the student picked up.

If your child will be taking the bus, please make sure you have completed the health attestation form. This form must be completed in order for your son/daughter to ride the bus. If you completed the form earlier this year, you do not have to complete it again.   


If you were assigned a carpool number, please make sure you have it displayed when you pick up your child in the afternoon and your child knows their carpool number.  If you no longer have the carpool placard that was issued to you earlier this year, please fill out this Google Form.  We will give you another tag when you pick them up in the afternoon.  


We will be using their carpool number to dismiss them from class.  If you have not received a carpool number, we will assign one to you when you pick up your child in the afternoon.   



If your child is bringing a laptop/chromebook to school, please make sure it is fully charged and they bring their charges with them.  We will have opportunities for students to charge their devices throughout the day.  In addition, if they are bringing a personal device (laptop/chromebook), please make sure they complete this form and turn it in to their 1st period teacher.  If they have already completed the form and turned it in to their teacher, they do not need to complete it again. 



Parents will not be permitted to drop off lunches for students at the front office.  If a student forgets their lunch, they may eat a school lunch for free.   


Breakfast and lunch will be free for students for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.  



2nd Semester Elective Schedule for the Week of February 14th. 

This week, students will begin the week attending their 1st elective class on Wednesday, February 17.  The calendar is listed below.

Middle School Athletic Activities 

WCPSS has confirmed that students will be able to participate in Athletic Activities this school year.  A calendar of when the seasons will occur can be found at this LINK along with the coach of each sport and their contact information.  The deadline to complete and submit the Middle School Athletic Participation Form along with the physical form is Wednesday, February 17th for students wanting to participate in Season 2.  Students that have not submitted their completed form by this date, will not be able to participate in Season 2 Athletic Activities. 


Coaches will be in contact with students signed up to participate in athletic activities this week to review practice schedules and other procedural items. 


If your child is interested in participating in Season 1 or Season 3 athletic activities, please complete the Google Form.  


Lastly, athletic activities will be open to all grade levels.

Career Connections Virtual Event

We will be hosting a virtual Career Connections event for 8th grade students on February 24th.  Infomation about the event and how to register can be found at this LINK.  Interested 8th grade students may register by completing a Google document that has been posted in their teachers Google classroom.  If you or your child have any questions about this event, they may email Mr. Barbalato at
