Sunday Scoop

Greetings Hodge Families!

Thank you to all who came out to our Back-to-School Bonanza. I’m happy to report that our first day of school was a success! It was so exciting to welcome our students back and see the smiles on their faces as they moved up to their new grade level. We are looking forward to our first full week with our Hodge Panthers.

Students who are eligible for reduced-priced meals this year will be provided free breakfast and lunch. If your child qualified for free or reduced lunch before the pandemic began will have a grace, or carry over, period for free lunch until the application for this year is approved. The grace period will last through the middle of August. To apply for free meal benefits this year go online at MySchoolApps.com or obtain a paper application at school.

Our Hodge Road PTA is looking forward to making this the best school year yet. But to do that, they need your help! Please consider becoming a member of the Hodge Road PTA today. They can't be a parent teacher association, without you, the parents. Also, by joining the PTA, you are giving yourself even more of a voice at Hodge Road. Throughout the year, PTA members vote on many important things like how to spend money to support our kids and teachers and receive voting rights on who serves in leadership roles on the PTA board. You can find out more about membership & learn about bundling your membership to save money on Class Dojo. The PTA is also selling new school spirit wear until August 12. Paper order forms for cash and/or check payment will be going home with students in their purple folders. You can also find a link for ordering t-shirts online with a credit card on Class Dojo. Your PTA board members thank you for your continued support.

Just a reminder that we are maximizing our instructional time. Dismissal is at 3:00. Students will exit their classrooms at 3:00. Carpool dismissal will begin about 3:05. During the first few days of school this may be a bit delayed as students get back in the routine and remember their carpool number when called.

Thank you for partnering with us as we care for and support our children each day. We are in this together. That is what makes us Hodge Road Strong!

Felecia Dorsey, Principal
