Greetings Hodge Families,
It’s Principal Dorsey here with the Sunday Scoop!
I hope you are planning to join us tomorrow for our first virtual PTA meeting of the school year at 6:15. Please look out for the Google Meet link that will be sent out through Class Dojo.
Please note that Wednesday, November 18, is our next asynchronous learning day for all students. All students will learn remotely. Teachers will provide learning activities for the day in place of live instruction, unless you are notified otherwise.
I am so excited to welcome back our Plan B, PreK-3rd grade students back to daily, face to face learning next week. I am also looking forward to welcoming our Cohort A 4th and 5th graders back to the building next week. Just a reminder, arrival will begin at 7:45. The tardy bell rings at 8:15. The school day ends at 3:00. All students and staff are required to wear a mask throughout the day. Gaiters are not permitted.
When students arrive, they will have to pass a health screening, including a series of questions and a temperature check, before entering the building. If your child is displaying symptoms before leaving home, they need to stay at home. If any child begins displaying symptoms throughout the day such as coughing, fever, sore throat, headache, etc. parents will be called to pick their child up.
All students riding the bus must have a signed attestation form on file. Your signature on the attestation form indicates that you will ensure that your child is symptom free prior to boarding the bus each day. A signed form only needs to be submitted one time for each child in the household riding the bus. Attestation forms are available on the district website. We will send home a paper copy with each child next week to ensure that every child riding the bus has access to the form. Please return as soon as possible.
Looking ahead, please note that next Monday and Tuesday, November 23 and 24, students will not report to school. These days are asynchronous learning days with all students learning remotely. Wednesday, November 25, begins the Thanksgiving holiday break.
Interim reports will be given this week. Reports will be sent to you via email or given directly to students attending learning in person.
I am looking forward to a great week of learning with our Hodge Road friends. As always, I encourage you to remain Hodge Road Strong!
