August 30, 2020

Greetings Hodge Families, It’s Principal Dorsey here with the Sunday Scoop. We will embark upon the third week of school tomorrow. We will also begin our full schedule of up to 2 ½ hours of live instruction. Remember, this time will be broken up to give students breaks and an extended lunch and movement break. This also includes 30 mins. of live specials such as art, music, PE and media.

Starting Tuesday, September 1st, families are required to provide a student ID number and pay for their meals based on their meal benefits status. Please consider using  MySchoolBucks to prepay for meals to reduce any payment collections at curbside. Free and reduced-price meals will be available for eligible students. You may continue to pick up meals at our school curbside without a student present if you can provide the student’s name and ID number. Visit wcpss.net/food for updated food distribution location information. It is not too late to apply for free and reduced-price meals. Eligibility and application information is posted on wcpss.net/meals. For the 2020-21 school year, students who qualify for reduced-price meals will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. Meals will not be distributed next Monday due to the Labor Day Holiday. Because of the transition to the National School Breakfast Program, students’ names and student ID numbers will need to be provided beginning Monday, August 31 to receive breakfast for Tuesday, and beginning Tuesday, September 1 to receive breakfast and lunch.

If you have requested a district device, you will be contacted soon to pick it up. Please be sure you have received notification of your pick up date before heading to a distribution site. Distribution sites are open Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Thank you, parents, for all you do every day to support your child’s learning at home. We appreciate your efforts. I know it is not easy, but it is worth it. Let’s continue to support and encourage one another. We are all responding to this pandemic for the first time together. We will get through this together. We are Hodge Road Strong!
