End of Year Closeout 24-25
End Of Year Closeout 2024-2025
Parents please review the below information as we prepare to end our 2024-2025 school year. Please ensure that you read through all of the information.
EOG TESTING REMINDERS:
- Arrival: Ensure that students are on time and show up EACH day for their EOG test. Minimized makeup testing allows us to focus resources where they are most needed. Please ensure your student gets a good night’s rest and eats a nutritious breakfast at home or at school.
- Chromebooks: Chromebooks will be collected and charged by grade level in advance of testing. Please look for communication from your student’s Assistant Principal regarding the specific date to bring in the device and charger. Students must have a charged Chromebook to complete their EOG.
- Cellular Phones/Smart Watches: In compliance with North Carolina Department of Public Instruction guidelines, cell phones and smartwatches are not permitted in the testing session. We strongly encourage students to leave these items at home unless medically necessary. If a student does bring a device, the following required procedure will apply:
- Student must power off the device in front of staff.
- Device must be stored in their bookbag, which will be moved across the room until all students testing are complete.
- Devices may not be kept in pockets.
Please review this policy with your student to avoid confusion or non-compliance on test days. No student will be able to access their belongings until the entire testing session is over for the entire building.
- Check-out Process: No checkouts will be permitted until 1:00 after all testing for the entire school is complete on June 3-June 6. You are not required to check out your students early on any of the testing days if you do not want to. If you plan to check out your child at 1:00 PM:
- You must use the carpool line and be in the designated pickup pattern.
- Staff will approach your vehicle in the order of arrival.
- Classroom teachers will release students only once contacted by an administrator.
- Be prepared to show ID, and ensure anyone picking up your child is listed as an approved contact.
Note: Students taking Math I (Grade 8) on June 9 also may not be checked out early until the entire testing session concludes.
EOG READMINISTRATION (RETESTING): We are confident in our students' ability to show growth and earn a Level 3, 4, or 5 on their EOGs. However, students who score a Level 1 or 2 will participate in required remediation, designed to address specific skill gaps and learning targets, followed by retesting.
- Remediation Dates: June 6, 9, 10, 11, and 12
- Retest Notification: Letters sent home June 9 (must be returned by June 11)
- Retest Dates: June 16 and 17
- Bus transportation will be provided.
- Breakfast and lunch will be served.
Please help us stress the importance of giving their best effort on both the initial EOG and any applicable retests.
