Weekly Message April 19-23, 2021


Current Juniors: As of 2020, state law mandates that ALL rising seniors have a Meningitis vaccination before beginning their senior year.  


Please submit a copy of your immunizations, showing the Meningitis vaccination, via email to (attn: Jennifer Wilkerson), or you may also fax it to 919-589-6714.  


Proof of vaccination must be received before the first day of the 2021-22 school year.  Link to Meningitis vaccination informationK-12 Health Requirements.

Class Meeting: We are looking forward to class meetings this week. The focus will be on digital portfolios and end-of-the-school-year updates.

Tuesday, April 20, 12:00-12:30 p.m.: Grades 9 and 10
Wednesday, April 21, 2:30-3:00 p.m.: Grades 11 and 12
Friday, April 23, 8:00-8:30 a.m.; Make-up session, all grade levels welcome.

NC Virtual Courses End Date: May 18, 2021, is the final day for NC Virtual Courses. Students should complete all the missing work that the NC Virtual teacher is still accepting before the end of their course(s).

COVID-19 Vaccines are Available to Everyone Ages 16 and Older:  As of April 7, 2021, any age 16 and older may be vaccinated in North Carolina. Please refer to the WCPSS Community Message that was sent on April 13.

Health Screenings: Health screenings have been discontinued. Everyone should self-screen before coming to school. 


Students should not be in school if they are diagnosed with COVID-19, exposed to someone with COVID-19, instructed to quarantine, or if they are sick or experiencing any of the following symptoms: 

  • 100.4° fever or higher
  • Sore throat
  • New cough
  • New shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Diarrhea or vomiting
  • New severe headache
