July 15th WFMS Summer Family Message
Students not returning to WFMS
In order to accurately prepare for the students attending WFMS in the 22-23 school year, we are asking any family whose student is NOT attending Wake Forest Middle School fill out THIS FORM. This form is intended for any family who is/has relocated out of district, state, or to another part of Wake County, as well as anyone who will be attending a private, charter, or home school in 2022-23. Thank you for completing this, as it will assist us in getting records to the receiving school as quickly as possible.
Information regarding student schedules will be shared sometime after August 1st. Schedules will not be finalized until an email is shared with families confirming completion, so disregard anything you may see in PowerSchool at this time.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 24th for the WFMS Open House. This event will be free-flowing at specific times during the day for families to come as their schedule permits. We encourage families who can come during the middle times of the day to come as it will alleviate traffic congestion and parking problems as we have limited parking available. Times available to attend the Open House are:
8:00am - 9:30am
10:30am - 12:00pm
1:30pm - 3:00pm
4:00pm - 5:30pm
A more formal “Meet the Teacher” event will be held at the midpoint of the 1st semester on September 15th from 4:30pm - 6:30pm. This event will also be free-flowing but will give you more opportunity to speak with the teacher about their classroom and your student after they have had time to get to know them better.
There will not be a formal “Cougar Camp” for 6th graders as we have done previously in the past. We have found it more beneficial to have “Cougar Camp” embedded within the first day or two of school for our 6th grade students. During days of school, students will participate in the activities we have previously used in Cougar Camp to acclimate them to the school, take a tour, meet with Dr. Bradford (Principal), Ms. Danyka Davis (6th grade AP) and Ms. Purnell (6th grade Counselor).
Transportation for the 22-23 school year

Baseball: We would like to make our families aware that Wake Forest Middle School will no longer offer baseball in the spring as a sport for students to participate in beginning with the 22-23 school year. While we know this decision may come as a surprise to sing games has become increasingly more difficult. We encourage our students to consider trying out for soccer or track and field during the spring season.
